=============================================
Dear Sirs,
Yes this is true . We are a Management Consultants Office based in Dubai
and we would like to show you how good a business in Juba- South Sudan
could be . Please do read further to know more .
1. Population - for the whole of South Sudan approximately 9 million, for
Juba around 500,000 people
with a current floating expat population of at least 20,000 people coming
in per day from all over the world
and increasing day by day.
South Sudan is a new country in the world map and it got its independence
from Sudan ( khartoum is the capital of
Sudan ) and Juba is the capital of South Sudan. South Sudan got its
independence a month ago on 9th July 2011.
Almost 75 to 80% of the oil discovered in Sudan lies in South Sudan.
2.Climate - 19 to 45 degrees
3.Business Opportunities - the place has little or no infrastucture - Juba
has paved tarred roads within the city
for about 15 to 20 kms ( long distance highways to Uganda border(nimule )
is already completed and several roads
are being started .Its just like how dubai was in 1975 to 1980 and the
progress of work is happening right in
front of our eyes. By the way nothing is produced for food in and around
Juba but the land is very very fertile
and if some intelligent investors just lease land and use some cheap
labour and produce all cash crops like vegetables
and fruits and just sell to Juba city you are bound to be a millionaire in
a short time .
There is a severe electricity problem and generators are mostly used .
The opportunity for business is unbeleivable - the whole world wants to
set up base in Juba therefore land, housing,
hotels, accomdation for staff , food everything is scarce and at a very
high price , but surprisingly the world is ready
to pay as the potential is huge and all investments can be covered quickly
once roads, electricity is set up .
there is also a logistics issue now with North sudan blocking Port Sudan
as an exit point to South sudan therefore
freight and logistics cost has gone up. A longer route from Mombasa port
and then by road via Nairobi, Uganda and then
entry into Juba has to be taken but this will be settled soon as North
Sudan is losing container traffic business at
its Port Sudan and hopefully the old route will re-open once things get
settled .
NOBODY CAN STOP BUSINESS AND WAYS AND MEANS ARE BEING DISCUSSED AND
IMPLEMENTED BY THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY .
4. No Advance visa currently for foreigners . It is better to stamp a 6
months multiple entry travel permit Visa on arrival airport at Juba
airport. If exit point at your country does not allow you to board flights
then we can arrange
advance travel permits ( actual cost usd 100 for multiple entry for 6
months but advance visa processing charges
fees by private operators are available )
5. Airport is very small and Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airlines are
currently the best option but in 6 months time
things will change and most airlines will fly in .
6. Government actively supports manufacturing ( even small scale ) with
some city power and some generator power .
7. Cost of setting up a company is almost the same as in Dubai and a local
native sponsor is needed . We can arrange for the same. There are no
freezones at the moment .Operating costs at the moment are high with
almost all accomodation gone , all hotels near full ( there are 220 of
them including guest houses, lodges etc )and all food is imported from
Uganda or Dubai . We can arrange sharing offices and accomdation till you
find your own . All property is on rent but land is available for lease
upto 30 years . A 600 sq meter of land ( 5 kms from Juba town ) would be
available for lease at around USD 15,000 per year . The whole expat
population visiting Juba for business is running around for accomodation
and finally settling down in Porta cabin type houses (all brought from
Dubai by hoteliers )The town looks like a transit camp now but the
construction is also going on at a very large level and within no time the
sceneario will change as money power is visible . The whole of the western
world is there and there are also 175 registered NGO;s already in .The
country is 90% chrisitian and 10% muslim population . Since internal roads
are bad one can see only four wheelers on road with local drivers . They
are available at USD 100 per day with driver . Petrol / Diesel is
expensive inspite of the country producing it as it has no refinery and
has to come via Nairobi , Uganda .
8. Ethiopian labour is very cheap and available in large numbers so also
kenyan, ugandan
9. Construction industry has started to boom and is on an explosion growth
. 7000 kms of roads are planned
in the next 12 months and the UN , world Bank and all such institutions
are directly funding them .
Huge opportuntiy for MEP work, food production and supply for local and
export ,
10. Country has 5 major banks now of which 2 are from Kenya and 2 from
Dubai but very soon all international
banks will set up branches.
11. Customs duties are from 0 to 25 %
We will help you set up everything in Juba , South Sudan .Our complete
team is in Juba for the next 6 months and our
Dubai office has no staff present there at the moment . We can give you
our Sudan contact details at any time , but initially we prefer emails for
